How to Report an Outage in Jamaica

A practical emergency kit for Jamaican homes and businesses: every phone number, app, and social channel you need to report a Jamaica power outage, water outage, or internet/mobile issue — in one place.

Life-threatening emergency? Call 119 (police) or 110 (fire / ambulance) first. Then notify the utility.

JPS — Jamaica Public Service

Power / electricity
  1. Confirm the outage is in your area — check our JPS status page first.
  2. Call 1-888-225-5577 or dial *5577 from a mobile and follow the prompts for outages.
  3. Have your JPS account number ready (top right of any bill).
  4. Describe what you see: total blackout, partial power, sparking, downed line, transformer fire.
  5. For downed lines or sparking equipment, treat it as an emergency — do not approach.

NWC — National Water Commission

Water supply
  1. Check the NWC status page for scheduled maintenance in your parish.
  2. Call NWC Customer Care at 1-888-225-5692.
  3. Provide your account number, address, and parish.
  4. Report low pressure, no water, discoloured water, or a visible main break separately so NWC dispatches the right crew.

Flow Jamaica

Internet / TV / landline / mobile
  1. Reboot your modem / cable box and wait two minutes before reporting.
  2. Open My Flow and tap Report a fault, or call 100 from a Flow line.
  3. Have your Flow account number and the affected service (internet, TV, phone) ready.
  4. Note any flashing lights on your modem — Flow will ask.

Digicel Jamaica

Mobile / internet
  1. Toggle airplane mode on and off, then try a call or data session.
  2. Open MyDigicel and submit a fault report, or dial 100.
  3. Mention your parish and town — outages are usually cell-tower scoped.
  4. If multiple neighbours are also down, mention it; Digicel prioritises clusters.

After you've reported

  • Log a community report on Jamaica Outage Tracker so your neighbours see it.
  • Subscribe to alerts for your parish to be notified when service is restored.
  • Check our analytics page if outages keep repeating — patterns help you plan.
